What and WHO can submit to contests 1) How do your contests work? Photo of the Day and Photo of the Month? 2) Who is eligible to participate? Your website is getting very "cluttered" and its hard to find stuff.

Hi Veronica, Good questions, and I think I have the answers :-) Members (i.e., Basic or Masterpiece), students in our interactive courses, and Deluxe/Pro site owners may enter the contest. In your own personal Member Center, click on the "enter the prestigious BetterPhoto Photography Contest" link. Then, if you click on the Better Photos tab in your Member Center, you'll see a terrific listing of contest links - for rules, etc. In short, you can enter one photo per day maximum. The Photo of the Month would be the Featured Photo for each of our two monthly newsletters. These are chosen from contest entries, and must include at least basic information on how the photo was taken (PhotoFlash) or the digital darkroom technique used (Digital Darkroom newsletter). The Photo of the Day images are chosen from Editor's Picks from the contest. Sometimes a photo "sits" in the pool of POTD photos a while and may become a finalist or winner before actually being published as a POTD image. Hope all this makes better sense! Thanks,

Hi Kerry, as a long-time BP member, I can empathize with what Veronica is asking. It is hard to find the contest, to include the finalists and winners links. When I click "My Member Center", I can't find the link you mentioned about "enter the prestigious BetterPhoto Contest" link. I have to click on my "Better Photos" link, then I find the Contest link and links to Winners, EPs, etc. Again, it's no big deal for me, cause I'm familiar with the site. But for newcomers I think it would be beneficial to have a distinct "Contest" button right off the Member Center. Just a suggestion..I thoroughly enjoy BP but if there are some simple things that can make the site more intuitive, then it might be worth considering. Thanks!

I'm surprised to read that some BP members think it is hard to find the contest tab. It is not hidden in any way. I have looked at other photo hosting sites and I strongly believe that Better Photo is easy to navigate. I think the layout is exceptional and I've never had any trouble finding my way around. I particularily like the straight forward Discussion tab. With the "All New Responses" tab it is easy to find new Discussions and recent additional comments. Keep up the good work Better Photo.
