Photography Question

Photo Books

Hi,

I am building a photo business slowly but surely. I have three weddings in the near future. I have been offering photobooks made through Shutterfly, but I want something different. Shutterfly is nice, but I would really like to offer something "fancier", or of better quality. I feel that when it comes to someone's wedding the product should be of a certain quality.

Can anyone recommend another company to make nice, quality photobooks for weddings?

I would really appreciate any feedback you have to offer. Thank you so much in advance.

  Hi Jennifer,
for a small step up, try Adorama's photo book.
For much higher end, Zookbinders.
There are many many others as well.
Hope this helps
Lisa

Hi Jen, I've had excellent results with SmileBooks.com they are in Germany and do an excellent job and I was really pleased with the quality and their service. You have the choice of doing the designing yourself or use their graphic designer if you wish. Give them a try.

Another site I have found for emailing photos in book, slide shows or scrapbooking including music is Smilebox.com. These two site have no relation to each other than similar in names. This site is free with only three choices of songs or if you sign up for a years membership (quite reasonable) you have a large choice of music to choose from. I use it all the time and love it. Unfortunately it is not for commercial use. I emailed them and asked if they planned to offer it for commercial use in the future but they said no. I was interested in using it for selling to real estate people of peoples homes both inside and out. What a bummer. Hope this helps.

  Jen,

Don't you subscribe to any of the photo magazines. You should because there is a plethora of info in them including the advertisements. Check out the ads on the computer to see if they offer what you want. Digital Photo Pro may have some ads from some very classy labs that will work with you.

I also understand that Miller Labs and White House CC also may give you better alternatives. Unless you are going to charge in the $$$$ class avoid Dugal. It isn't that they are bad because they are superb and charge accordingly.

Lynn
