Smart Media wont format
Smart media card will not format in camera or computer. Card has not been used in a wile, cleaned with an eraser still nothing, Camera says card error when attempted to format, computer will not format eather is there a battery in the card that has gone dead and so rendered the card useless. What do I do as this is the card that allowes the panoramic function on my camera to work. Camera is an Olympus D-550 zoom, all other cards work fine.

Hi
Sounds like a dead memory card. Might be time to search eBay for a replacement as I don't think you can buy smart media cards any more in the shops.
