How many shots do you take at an event?

I'm curious to know how many pictures everyone takes at their events: wedding, seniors, babies, family? I have a senior shoot coming up-4 poses 3-4 outfits and I'm wondering in the ballpark what I'll come home with!!

  Hi Beth:

For weddings, first I make sure I will have the 'maximum' allowed in my packages for proofs (which ranges from up to 200 - 400 proofs). For Seniors always 10-20 proofs (again, depending on package, families I try to give at least 10 - 15, depending on how many changes they will have.

  Beth,

This will really depend on how and what you shoot. For the few family shoots I do, I end up with between 15-20 proofs for them to look at. For my model shoots, I end up with about 100 shoots for the model to go though. When I shoot automotive racing events, I take thousands of photos in a day and end up with 5-15 good shots of each car.

As Debra said, keep your offered packages in mind and make sure you have them covered. Also keep in mind that you can take a hundred frames of that senior and come out with 20 good ones, or you could spend the same time taking 20 frames and have 20 good ones.

For most events I shoot until the event is finished with No limit.
for Studio I shoot and teach 3-6 on each background, with at least one wall grouping shot per color background.
giving choices and having groupings with poses that compliment each other makes for more wall size portraits usually purchased.
I hope this helps,
Debby
