SanDisk Extreme III Corrupted Data? So I bought the SanDisk Extreme III memory card and have had two occurrences where my data is corrupted. During the time of when I was taking the pictures I would review the images and they were there. When I go to put it in my computer the same or following day the images are not appearing, so I put the memory card back into my camera to see if the images are really gone and I get an error message saying "Corrupted Data". Has anyone had this problem? I plan to bring it in to see if they can retrieve the images but was wondering if there is any way that I can try to retrieve them first? The weird thing about this situation is that the two times it has happened they haven't been back to back... one time was a few weeks ago and then it seemed to work just fine until it just happened again. PLEASE HELP!

I've noticed a very similar thing with xD cards. They are fine if you just keep them in the camera (so I connect the camera to the computer, and leave the card in there), but if you take the card out and put it in the comp, it becomes messed up. Maybe it depends on the computer, the card type, or the camera type? Ariel

Didn't the memory card come with a little cd for data recovery?

I've had experiences with a card that did that from time to time. Microtech. I just got rid of the one that did that, and the other three haven't been problematic. Could be just a bad card. To retrieve them yourself, you need a recovery program. Which I don't think is anything different than what's going to be used at the place you plan on taking it to.

Well I ended up buying a recovery program and was able to retrieve most of them. Although I still plan to bring in my card and see if I can get a replacement being that I just bought if a few months ago! Thanks everyone
