If I get the 5D what wide angle lens should i get? I already have a 50 mm 1.4 & 28-135is zoom. I would want to take advantage of the double rebate canon is offering. SOOOOOOOO do I get a 20mm wide angle lens (which I would practically get for free) oorrrrrrr do I get one of the big boys...70-200L IS which I really can't afford. They also have the really wide zooms 16-35 f/2.8L again can't afford or 17-40 f/4L. Would it be rediculous to have a 5D and not have the L series lens? Should I bit the bullet and get the 70-200. I shoot mainly weddings. Do you think the 20 is not that much of a difference than the 28-135 to just purchase that. I just love the long sweeping landscapes with the bride and groom in it, so that why I thought iwould like wider lens. But my lens will become alot wider just by using it on the 5D instead of the 30D (1.6 crop factor). also could get the effect with cropping. Help me decide guys!

the 85mm 1.8 is a great lens and super cheap. Alot of pros use this in California.

If you shoot mainly weddings then stay with the 28-135. With the crop factor gone due to the full frame 5D the 28mm will do fine for wide angle. If you can't afford and justify the 70-200mm lens then don't get it. Buy a real good flash or two. Good shooting! Ray

"L" lenses are terrific, but by no means required. The EF 28-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS USM is a terrific zoom. The 20mm (EF 20 f/2.8 USM?) is very wide angle, giving 84° horizontal angle of view on the 5D v. 65° for 28mm. While less convenient than the 17-40 zoom, it is 1 stop faster and if you can get it "practically for free" then go for it. Ditto the recommendation of "a real good flash or two." If you don't already have a 550EX or 580EX, then get one. Use direct flash for fill outdoors and bounce indoors. The 28-135 should give you just about all you need for a wedding, but if you want/need an f/2.8 tele zoom and can't afford the EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS USM, then look instead at the EF 70-200 f/2.8L USM (non-IS model) or Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 EX HSM. Image Stabilization is not a necessity, just use good hand-held technique.

Hey Deb, I've got a collection of lenses and I think if you're shooting weddings you need the 550EX or 580EX with the Quantum Turbo. It is so important to be able to be able to shoot quickly at weddings and the quantum makes it possible, look at a Q Flash also. I use my 17-40L seldom except on Vehicle shoots where I'm cramped for space with my full sensor 1DsMarkII. I use my 24-70 2.8 all the time along with my 70-200 2.8IS. I've also got all the primes and don't think its a bad idea to maybe add the 100mm 1:2.

Thanks for your suggestions everyone. I do have the 580 ex flash. I have 3 more days to decide. You guys are really helping me think about all the angles of each decision. Thanks so much
