Photography Question

Epson photo printer problem or the paper?

I just recently bought an Epson Stylus R380 photo inkjet printer and have been using Kodak Ultima glossy and Ultra Premium glossy photo paper. The printer uses six different ink colors and prints beautifully. However I am having a problem with the images not completely drying even after sitting untouched over night. Is this a problem with the inks and printer or is the kind of paper I am using? Any help would be great.

  Jerry -

When I first tried using Ultima [Glossy or Satin] with my Canon S-800, I had a similar problem - but, I also really didn't like the color.

I contacted a number of e-mail forums and got a strange answer. When you set up the driver select PLAIN PAPER and use a MEDIUM FINE QUALITY SET POINT. This made no sense, so I contacted Kodak for a recommendation. Guess what - Same Thing. I tried it and loved the results. I found especially that Ultima Satin gives great B&W portrait results.

When I got my i9900, I never tried another setting and have had great prints.

I'm not certain this will work with an Epson, but it might be worth a try.

John
