Karate Kids Shooting Well Here I am again, Wedding went great, she loved them and keeps pushing me to go by myself, I will probably practice a couple more times thogh... Anyway... her son's karate sensei saw the pics and she want to work with me doing an event of me shooting the kids (taking pictures I must clarify). I am confused as what to expect and what to offer, I never thought of a gig like this and being new to freelancing well I can use some advice, I have a friend that will work photoshop for special effects, but I am not sure as what to offer her... like free 8x10 or a percentage of what I make from prints that I sell to parents.. I don't know... I never sold my work, it was always studio prices... I don't want to sell myself short but since I am working in the karate classroom instead of a studio and is my first Official job I don't know what to say... HELP!!!! The sensei is going to call me this week to talk about options... she is interested in a 1year contract so I shoot every graduation and a few training classes... help help help.... Thanks... (I am working with the Nikon D80, works wonders by the way... Still learning lens use though)

Kinda hard to recommend anything really, David, as long as you don't know what kind of photos the sensei wants, how many, and how long it will take you to shoot and PP them.

I'll recommend something David. I'll recommend understanding the business practices for the business you're getting into. What a concept eh? Offering freebies isn't the way to get going. Take a look over here: Oh, and while you're at it, get a script to the industry trade publication PDN http://www.pdnonline.com/pdn/index.jsp If you read it regularly, you'll start getting a handle on photographers do business.
