HOW TO USE TELECONVERTER WITH ZOOM LENS? -Hi Sir/Madam, recently I bought a KENKO 2X TELECONVERTER > AF FOR NIKON to be used with my PHOENIX 100-400mm AF > LENS. When I began using the both together in AUTO > FOCUS mode in hard to focus areas I began to hear a > grinding buzzing noise coming from the LENS RING. Is > that a normal experience? Although the AUTO FOCUS > still works fine, Before when I used the Phoenix by > itself I never use to hear that noise. Thank You.

I don't know - is the add-on teleconverter touching moving or turning stuff on the other lens? You need to use a tripod because at such high zoom, the DOF is tiny, and also if the camera moves a little the whole scene the camera sees changes and it can't focus. I once had an Opteka 2x add-on for my Fuji s5200, and the quality it produced was horrible - not worth it.
