Help with CompactFlash card

Hello everybody out there, can anybody help me PLEASE!! I have a Nikon D70, which is great, I am only an amateur, but have had my D70 for about a year now, but my CompactFlash card has suddenly gone weird or corrupt or something. I am able to see all my images on camera screen, but when trying to download to my pc - it is coming up with cannot open, card maybe corrupt etc etc, PLEASE PLEASE can anyone tell me - if at all possible, is there any way at all, somehow, I can get the images off the camera or is that it, and I must just forget all the images on it and get a new card, which I can't really afford at the moment
Please, can anyone out there help with any advice, or where I can go to get help with getting them off the camera - if at all?

Thank you so much for anybody's help.

I am also new to digital photography, but I will try to see if I can help. What I would try is to hook the camera straight up to a printer and see if the printer could read them.( if you have a printer that can do that) If you don't then the next thing to try would be another computer. Your computer program might have a problem, it might not be the card. If you can not do that, then I would suggest visiting the local developer, maybe your local Wal-Mart, or the local studio see if they can download the file onto their equipment. If they can then you have more of a problem than a bad CF card. I hope this can help.
Joe.
