what is and why is a battery pack used? hi i have a canon eos k2......my friend has insisted me on buying a battery pack(bp-220) for my camera....what is and why is a battery pack used?how do u use it....is it really necessary??what r the advantages and disadvantages of using a canon bp-220 battery pack for canon eos k2.....does it make the camera heavy

An optional battery pack is not normally necessary - it just gives you longer shooting capability before your batteries die. For everyday shooting, I wouldn't be too concerned about it. In fact, it just adds more weight to your camera body. Just pack an extra set of batteries in your case, and you'll be fine. However, for such things as "event photography," especially weddings, a battery pack, along with a spare, WOULD be somewhat mandatory.
