nikon N55 auto focus problems I own a nikon N55 camera and I've had it just over a year. Recently when I've used the automatic focus it will not snap the picture. It will focus, and the flash will come on but it will not take the picture. I dont know if I've set something on my camera or if the auto focus is no longer working. Any words of wisdom?

You're certainly not the only one. The autofocus issues with the N55 have been reported on numerous boards. Lower-end AF cameras do tend to have more functioning and warranty issues, with Nikon I always recommend getting N80, N8008s or above if you are bound & determined to have a electronic CPU-controlled autofocus camera. Good news: Nikon is apparently offering a free repair for the N55 now: N55 SERVICE ADVISORY "It has come to our attention that select electrical components in a limited number of N55 cameras may, in some instances, fail affecting camera performance and/or operability. While only a limited number of N55 cameras are affected by this advisory, if your N55's autofocus system is not working, Nikon Inc. will service it free of charge.
