Lense for my Nikon N65 I am a first time SLR buyer and recently acquired a Nikon N65 which came with the typical 28-80 mm lense. I went to the Blue Ridge Parkway this past weekend and found that I wanted a much stronger lense, so I bought a 70-300mm Nikon lense. The price was about $200 and the distance I can get is nice- I wasn't sure, though, if it was a smart purchase. With all of the different sizes and brands of lenses, I didnt know if this was a good buy or if I should get something else. (The 70-300mm lense is still returnable) All I am looking for is a stronger lense.

I own the 70-300mm (4-5.6) Nikon lens and am very happy with the results I get from it. Most of my travel photos and portraits are taken using this lens. The light weight, sturdy construction and focal length makes it my favourite travel companion (+ of course my F70). I am now looking to upgrading my focal length with probably a SIGMA 170-500 or 50-500 and a X2 teleconverter, but the 70-300 will still have a permanent spot in my camera bag. The SIGMA is to heavy for hand held photos.
