JPEG Images don't open or copy

I have taken some pics with a digital camera and stored on a sd memory card. When I tried to upload the card, I get that there are no images. When I tried to copy select images, it show the icon of a sailboat with orange background, but no preview is available and file does not open. The extension reads .jpg, so I don't understand...also tried to upload into Shutterfly, but no luck. Have tried reading card at a photo shop kiosk and fiddling with lock switch...still no luck...

Any ideas? I'd hate to continue losing pictures.

Thanks for any help or advice!

Jennifer

That would be no good! Thank goodness CD cards are getting cheap, but their is an outside chance that the problem is with the camera.

Get another card and take a few shots to see if they download OK. DON'T use the card until you know if the problem is with it, with the card-reader, with the camera etc. because if you over-write the original files, getting the photos back may not be possible.

There are a lot of programs that will rescue images from faulty cards, pictures that have been corrupted or deleted...even formatted! I use Art Plus Digital Photo Recovery which is free (search the Net for it) and it works very well.

Good luck!
