Macro lens I have seen pictures taken with the same macro lens and the whole subject is in focus. I keep playing around with it but don't seem to get it right. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks. here's a sample photo.

Andrea - you've got it backwards! F2.8 will yield the LEAST depth of field, while your smallest aperture (I'm guessing f32 on your macro lens) will yield the MOST depth of field. You've also got to be aware that the closer one focuses, the less DOP you will have for ANY given lens at ANY given aperture. Thus, you are already at a DOP disadvantage when doing macro work.

You are right Michael! I have it backwards! thanks everyone for your imput...I will keep playing around with it, too bad the grasshopper is gone, hahaha!!
