CD readability I have a problem with a cd that some pictures were transfered to. The cd was made at a store while on vacation. The images pulled up on the computer there at the store but not on my computer. I see the pictures but they won't open. Are these recoverable and if so how.?

Jason, You may need to load specific software for that cd, depending on who did it for you. My mom gave me a cd of photos that she couldn't open, and that was the problem. You needed to load their free software that was on the cd before you could view your photos. Once I did that, I was able to copy and paste them onto my PC to be viewed and edited any way I wanted. The problem was that the quality of the images was really pretty terrible. Don't know if that helps, but that's the only experience I've had with a similar issue. Good luck! Laura

Laura, Thanks. What software did you use? I have been doing some talking with others and they brought up that it might be cross platform issues...MacIntosh vs PC. PC's can't open up a Mac formatted disk. I hope this is what I am dealing with. It will be an easy fix. jason

OOOOOOOH! Yep, that certainly would be an issue. Macs can usually open up a PC file, but not the other way around. I really don't remember the software, it was a proprietary software from the film processor on the photo cd itself. I hope it's an easy solution for you!
