Flash Units I use a Photek softlighter umbrella with a Canon 380EX speedlight. This umbrella is made for other light sources than what I am using. I get varied results with the flash I use. I am wondering about using something different but being an amateur I am not clear on what to look for and what would be able to be used with my Canon Elan IIE camera. The pamphlet that came with the Softlighter recommends light sources like White Lighting, Norman, Comet, just to name a few. Can I use one of these with the camera I am using? Should I still use the flash I am using and possibly add a slave unit and if so, which one? I photograph a small area which consists of Chihuahuas posing on a footlocker with various backgrounds.
