Photography Question

Sydney A. Robinson

my film keeps jamming in a manual camera

i have a pentax spotmatic II camera, older, vintage one. and when I load it, after a few shots the film will jam, or something jams anyway, and I can't fix it unless I open it. once I open it, it sets back to zero pictures taken, and then works fine...also, black and white photos seem to come out as if nothing has been taken with the film, when I know it has because of the sound it makes when I rewind the film... I have no idea whats causing these problems, but it just had an overhaul not too long ago. any help would be greatly appreciated. thenks

Sounds like the curtain isn't opening
or is too quickly to make proper exposure. Most curtains and wind assembles are linked to wind and reset the curtain. Possible broken sproket or gear. I had an old camera that my dad took to Guam with him in the 50s. Similar problem. . .sticky sutter would mess up the winder.

Good Luck

thanks for your help. I thought it might have been a loose screw or something inside the camera, but that didn't seem logical after I had it refurbished. ill bring it to a camera specialist. i'd hate to not be able to use it, it's got so much character... thanks again
