Please do not use such vulgar language. It is extremely offensive and unecessary. The 10D needs either an E-TTL compatible EX-series speedlight (such as 420EX), or a non-dedicated auto unit (such as Vivitar 283). The 300EZ is compatible only with film EOS bodies. It is not E-TTL compatible and will not work with the 10D. With respect to the built-in flash, check to see if you've set C.Fn.5 to "3" (this setting disables the built-in flash). Otherwise, I have no idea why it would not work.

D'oh!!! I goofed. You have the film camera 10s, not the digital 10D. I apologize for the mistake. Ignore the above answer regarding E-TTL and custom functions. Other than checking the obvious - clean the hot shoe and speedlight contacts, make sure it is fully seated in the hot shoe, etc. - I don't know why your flash isn't working.
