Shadows in vertical shots
I shoot with a Canon 20D and a Canon 420EX Speedlight. I am getting harsh shadows when shooting vertically - even when I add off-camera flashes on each side of my subject. How can I eliminate this problem?

The shadows occur because your flash is off to one side of your camera. One way to eliminate them is to use a bracket similar to the Stroboframe flip bracket. It will allow you to keep the flash above the lens axis regardless of which way you turn the camera. You might try to place your fill flash to the side of the subject opposite the side your flash is on only.
