How To Take Perfect Pictures of Jewelry In my job I have a digital Kodak DC 220. The lastest thing I have been asked to do is take pictures of jewelry - rings, bracelets, necklaces etc. I cannot get these pictures to show any quality or detail. If I get too close they are blurry, if I leave the flash on it reflects off the diamond, if I turn the flash off it is too dark and you can hardly see the jewels. Are digital cameras made to take pictures of jewels? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated - I was to have this all in place by October 1 and I am struggling to get this to work.

Hi Hilda, I shoot the Nikon 950. Use Macro Mode, a light matt finish background, diffused light (no flash) from 3 sides and a good tripod. My Macro work turns out very well. I just finished a presentation to Muskegon CC (using MS Powerpoint) on Estate Jewelry employing the above technique. Good Luck,
