Lighting

I AM A BEGINNING PHOTOGRAPHER AND I WAS WONDERING IF YOU COULD TELL ME A LITTLE ABOUT FLORECENT LIGHTING. FOR EXAMPLE, THESE TWO PICTURES THAT I AM SHOWING YOU, I DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET THE FLORECENT LIGHTS TO LOOK LIKE THEY DO IN THE FIRST PHOTO. DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO PHOTOGRAPH UNDER FLORCENT LIGHTS? I HAVE AN SLR AND I WAS ALSO WONDERING IF A FLASH MUST ALWAYS BE USED?

I am a beginner, also with flourescent light issues. Your pictures did not post, so I hope this helps you. A few pics I took under flourescent lights came out fine but some had a green tint. After some research and reading I found that shooting in flourescents needs a filter. Get a FL-D filter to fit your lens and that should improve your pictures.
