I would like to find some tips on lighting on how to take great pictures of jewelry, for a website. Can you help please?

  The main thing to remember when taking any images of shiny items is when you set up your lighting, from single flash to multiple rigs, is that you don't want the light to "bounce" straight back into the camera lens and cause "burnout". Angle your light(s) so as to illuminate the object at an angle to the lens (maybe bouncing off the ceiling).

Also, use a moderate light absorbing, neutral, plain background (I.E. grey). This will: 1. absorb some of the light that will be bouncing around & 2. with nothing in the background, keeps the focus on the item being photographed rather than objects in the background.
