camera misbehaving, will not respond to threats I've got an older cannon 35mm slr camera and I took out a roll of film and put in another one, but the film wouldnt advance, and I couldnt see out of the viewfinder. I took the film out and tried swearing and yelling at it, and even shook my fist in a threatening manner, but nothing changed. I hope I didnt break it, like, a lot I hope that, but I dont think I did anything that could've. Please consult your crystal ball and tell me what I did wrong. Cheers,

What model Canon camera do you have? If the viewfinder is black then the mirror has locked up. Some models have a control to do this purposely, on others it would only happen if the battery is dead, or if it's broken. I'd guess dead battery, since this would also prevent the shutter release needed for loading film, at least on models that have electronic controlled shutter.

the model, I believe, is AE-1.

AE-1 does not have mirror lock-up feature, so install a new battery. If you need it, the user manual is online at http://www.canonfd.com/choose.htm. If that doesn't fix it, it'll need a professional to look at it.
