Photography Question

Twynette Deloris Reynolds

how to shoot manually

Hi,
I do take beautiful pictures using my auto focus, but I would like to shoot some pictures manual focus. I can not get a clear focus in a timely manner. I really thought it was my vision that was slowing me down with finding a clear focus. I try to focus on an object but I cant tell if it is a true focus,or will the picture be a little blurr. I tried waiting for the green light (focusing) inside
the camera but it take so long. I want to be able to focus and take a picture. How could I understand about how to use manual focusing? Could you give me a little more tips on manual focus. I want to be able to take pictures closer than auto focus will allow me to. By the way, I have a Minolta QTsi camera/AF Lens 28-135..

Thank You,

Practice focusing quickly. focus at home in the living room. focus on something near, then all the way across the room, then something else in a different direction that's near.
And practice on focusing on moving things, like cars going down the street.
I know minolta has lens that you don't turn the ring by hand to focus like everyother lens, so I hope that's not the kind you have.
