New SLR Camera for Weddings

My Pentax K-1000 and MX are great for my macro work but too slow when I shoot a wedding. I was thinking about buying the Pentax PZ-1p or similar price range camera. What do you suggest?

The Pentax PZ-1p is a good SLR and, because it uses the KAF2 bayonet mount, it is compatible with KAF, KA and K mounts. So it offers the slight advantage of being able to use your old lenses, in the manual focus mode, at least. It has a power zoom which is kinda cool but not essential. The camera has a good focusing system and good exposure meter; if you are a loyal Pentax lover, you won't be disappointed.

Consider for comparison sake, the Canon Elan II with EF28-80 USM V Zoom Lens is an excellent starter SLR that will give you fast focusing and fast film advance for the weddings. Furthermore, since it includes a good autofocus lens, you will be well on your way right out of the box.
