Vivitar 2600

A friend gave me a Vivitar 2600 flash attachment with no manual. I can figure out the red and blue settings but what is the center M for? He's not around to ask.
I e-mailed Vivitar 3 times but they don't respond, trying to get a manual.
My granddaughter would like the camera and I want to get as much info for her as I can.

The M usually stands for "manual" so I would imaging it allows you to get out of the automatic mode so you can creatively control intensity, etc.

There seems to presently be a few of these flash units on the auction block at eBay. Perhaps you can buy one just for the manual or wait until someone wants to sell the manual separately; eBay is a good place to watch. Otherwise, you can sometimes find old manuals at a local pro photo shop.
