Navigating new website When I log in, I find a link to my Gallery, but, how do I get from there to being able to the page where I can choose to upload photos?

Anita, I'm still learning the navigation too, so there may be an easier way than what I'll tell you. But from your gallery, click on the BetterPhoto.com text...it sends you back to the main page (and you may be prompted to log-in again). From the main home page, you'll see the little pancake icon. It's towards the top left. Three horizontal lines stacked on top of each other. Click it, then click the "My Photos" link. Next, click the "Upload" link. From there, you can upload a photo to the contest. Likewise, if you go back to the main home page, you'll see "Contest" link on the top right. When you click that, you'll see similar text that instructs you to go to "My Photos" after clicking on the pancake icon.

Don't ask me. I think the new site is very confusing for certain things. Although there is a "log in" (which I would rather have without the attached "Buddy"), I cannot find a "log out". I cannot figure out how to place my photos in my previously created Albums, or even how to find the Albums page where I can change them as desired . When I try to page back from my old Gallery that shows the Albums, it puts me back onto the sign-in page. The email they sent out was helpful to start looking at the new layout, but hopefully they are still trying to fix glitches, Minor point, but I would rather more subdued colors on the site because the orange and black reminds me too much of Halloween. I wonder if people could choose between a couple of color schemes.

OK, I just found the Sign Out under the "pancake". One thing off my list!

clik the three bars in the upper left(pancake looking things as they say) under My photos there's an Upload button. For deluxe sites, click My BetterPholio instead of My Photos. It'll have the link for the admin center there.

Looks to me as if the albums option has been eliminated for the least expensive gallery (which I have). I no longer can move my daily entries into the albums I created, and the only way to see new entries is to choose the "All photos" link on my home page. Other than that, which I'm not happy about - and the "Buddy" thing - the changes make the site look much more professional.

Monnie, they're still working thru the bugs. And I think your issue with moving your daily entries into your albums is a bug. I would also recommend contacting BP about this. And I assume they're also monitoring the forum but better safe than sorry.

Hope you're right, Ken! I see that the pricing info for the basic gallery doesn't list "albums" as a benefit like the higher priced ones do, so since I can't move new entries into my existing albums I just assumed that capability is no longer included. But we all know what happens when you assume! ;-D

I have the cheaper version too, but have never moved photos into different galleries. I hope current customers of the "basic" galleries don't lose capability. I suppose time will tell. Again, hopefully it's a glitch that will be quickly fixed.

Photos look great in the redesigned wed site. Rather than logging in each time I want to stay logged in. Does anyone else have this problem?

Yes, the "stay logged in on this computer" feature isn't working yet... I believe it is a bug they're working hard at fixing...

Yes, Irene, it seems to be a common problem from what I'm hearing. But I did read somewhere that it's an issue that's being worked on as we speak but isn't a very easy fix. So hang in there!

I just found that the "albums" option is now functioning for those of us with the basic plan. It'll take a bit to get used to how it functions, but that's very good news!

I personally think when you hit the "Home" button, it should take you to your gallery page or something. I don't think it makes sense to take you to a page of random images from everyone else. Maybe other people's don't work the way mine is working but I don't like the configuration the way it is now. I know it's new but is just seems more complicated than it should be.

I have been able to sort my entries for several days now but suddenly cannot find that option. It was under My BetterPholio. Does anyone know where it went? That's my main question, but I'll weigh in on a few other things people have commented on.

Found the Sort Order. Look under My BetterPholio > Gallery Settings

Nikki, I like your idea for the option to display a photo upon upload. For all the years I've been in BP, I've always uploaded a photo to the contest then had to go back into my Member Center, My Photos, to toggle it for display. It was tedious but I just got used to it. But it would make it easier to default it for display, or option to default for display. Same concept as the toggle button for "Notify me of future comments."

Does anyone know why I can't make someone a 'favorite' anymore if I'm viewing their gallery? And what does 'follow' this photographer mean? Is that the new 'favorite'? Also I think the upload method is tedious whereas I used to upload right into the contest. Now I (collective 'we') have to upload the slow old fashion way (drag and drop) THEN enter the photo in the contest. I dislike this method, I don't understand the need to change it, and would like to return to the way it was set up before. Thoughts?

Cindy, I use the Alternate Uploader and it does allow you to upload right into the contest. I've used this same method ever since I joined BP and it's the same as before.

Nikki, reference you comment "Wish the upload default was "display" as it used to be or that the option to display was available at the moment of upload " BP just added this option, so thanks, BP!

I noticed, Ken, and I like it. Not sure anything can be done about it, but I preferred having the badges right under the images. Now the comments intervene and if there are several, I have to scroll down to see the badges. The other day I was trying to clean out my gallery and I wanted to open images and check to make sure I didn't delete a Finalist or something. Took forever. Plus, with the new comment format, I often have to scroll twice on a single image - once with my main scroll bar to get to the bottom of the page and then, in order to read the more recent comments, again with the scroll bar that goes with the comments. I am actually finding many of the things I did routinely before take longer than before. Like entering the contest now seems to take more clicks: open BP, click on BP, click on the three little horizontal lines, click on MyPhotos, click on Upload and now it's the same as before. I could swear this is 2-3 more strokes than before. If everything goes smoothly, it doesn't take that long. But when things hang up, it's just several more points in the process for them to hang up. Plus, if I am trying to do commenting on a number of entries - like Finalists - I have to scroll twice on almost every image I want to comment on. I'm sure I'll get used to much of this as time goes by, but I thought I'd mention these things in case others have strong preferences (like about the location of the badges) - it may be a relatively easy change to make.

Great job Team BP on eliminating most all the bugs which were bugging the members. Now I can stay logged in. Yahoo. Thanks again ;) UB.

A number of us are not getting email notifications when responses are made in a thread even though we have checked the box to receive them. Is there an additional step we need to take to enable this?

Looks like I have some reading to do to catch up with everyone else on how to navigate the new BP design. Right now I'm lost but just keep pushing buttons until I find the place I'm looking for. So confusing!!! That's what I get for taking a break. :)

This queston is for the moderator of this area...I have had two comments removed without question or reason....is it possible to have a reason given for removal? I noticed it has happend to another member as well.......

Ray, I assume the reason is that BP management thought the comment(s) were critical of BP, or put BP in a negative light. Your best bet is to contact BP directly about this. I doubt they'll respond via this forum, although they may.
