For the Q&A pic, when you upload it at the member center, when the page with the provided avatars comes back up after uploading yours, hit the page refresh button before you leave that page if you are still seeing your old avatar.

Yeah, you have to refresh the page. I had oodles of troubles with mine a few years ago until somebody (probably Greg) told me to refresh.

Thanks for the advice on refresh. I think on my mac it is reload. I have also had trouble when I upload a new mini pic. Thanks for the tip!
