size of pictuers I was just wondering about some of the sizes of my photos. Although they are all in my gallery and the contest has accepted the ones I have submitted, (taken with a Nikon coolpix 2000) that the size does not meet the requirements of 750 500. for example my photo of Mt. Shuskan was sized at 750 and 562, the program will not allow me to change it without it becoming distorted!! is this a major factor for entering these photos into the contest??? I now have a Pentax *ist DS, which are the correct sizes, and I'm still using the same program to resize these as I have for the other photos!!! I hope I didn't confuse anyone!!! mlg

Michelle, Check the aspect ratio on the un resized images from the camera. I have two digital cameras, a Sony F828 and a Cannon Digital Rebel. The Rebel produces a 3:2 image and will resize to exactly 500x750. The F828 on the other hand produces an image that is significantly closer to square (I don't recall the exact aspect ratio right now). The manual for your camera may mention the aspect ratio of the CCD.

I looked up the aspect ratio for the F828, it's 4:3. Doing a little math on the sizes you give, your camera is also a 4:3 aspect ratio. If you want to hit 500x750 exactly, you will need to crop the image to a 3:2 aspect ratio.

Well tried it and it works!! Now I have to go back and change all of the photos to the correct size, I hope the ones in the contest will be fine if not I guess there is always the May contest!! Thanks again for your help!! Have a good day!! mlg
