How to avoid under exposed pics. with large groups How can I avoid from having pictures underexposed when taking large groups of people indoors; not in studio, but at weddings. I am using flash on bracket with Hasselblad. I may be using the wrong aperture? Please help! My images like this come out very faded.

What kind of flash are you using (guide #)? What film are you using? What aperature are you shooting at? Give us a little more info. Upload a photo if you can.

Dear LaChelle: I agree with Kerry, and I'd add these questions: How far are you from the group? How many rows deep is the group? Is the photo darker at the edges than in the middle? Yes, you may be using the wrong aperture, or, put another way, you may be out of range (too far away) for the aperture you are using, or too far away for the power that your flash has. Tell us more about the equipment and the shooting circumstances. I'm curious to know which Hasselblad camera model you are using, which lens, which aperture on the lens, which model of flash, which flash exposure mode you are using (manual, auto, TTL). All of this information may be vital to providing you with an explanation of the problem, and a solution to prevent it from recurring. If the images are especially valued,you may have to have the negative scanned, so that someone can doctor the image in Photoshop.
