What causes vertical rainbow stripes?
When I use my Vivitar 300mm lens, the pics come back with vertical rainbow stripes to one or other of the sides.Can anyone help?

rod, some more data is needed to start weeding out variables. For example... 1. Is this film or digital
2. Did it happen on every frame shot with that lens?
3. Was it always in exactly the same place on the frame
4. Was it the same colors in every frame.
5. If you examine them very closely does the stripe have a hard or soft edge? That ought to give us all something to go on to try to sort out the problem. David

Hi David,
Thanks for your response. I adjusted the fit of the back-latch and the camera now works properly so it must have been caused by a light leak. Rod.
