Normal SLR MACRO Lens Work On DIGITAL CAMERA


I Was wondering would anyone know if I can buy a NORMAL SLR MACRO CLOSE UP FILTER AND USE IT ON A DIGITAL POINT AND SHOOT CAMERA. OR DO I HAVE TO BUY A MACRO CLOSE UP FILTER THAT IS MADE FOR A DIGITAL CAMERA??? THANK YOU

At my current level of understanding, the only filter you have to be specific about is a polarizing filter. And that's only because often times a linear polarizing filter won't work on an autofocus camera, which most P&S are these days.
A close up lens shouldn't present any problems so long as it's the right size to fit on the camera to begin with and that your camera is autofocus. You didn't really say that it was. But some of the really cheap cameras that claim auto focuse, really aren't. They are fixed focus and rely on the depth of field from a wide angle lens and small aperatures to get the job done. A close up filter on one of these cameras would only give you extrememly blurred pictures.
