Photography Question

Dropped the camera to the ground.

I accidentally dropped my Lumix FX-8 compact camera to the ground the other day. So far, other than a few scraches and dents, no major problem found. I know it may be silly to ask, but my question is to know if there is any way to tell if it's performance, such as its accuracy to read light, is still acting correctly, other than making tons of testing on pictures. What would be affected most due to impact like this? I should consider lucky with the lens and LCD screen not damaged. THANKS.

If you have a warranty I would send it in and have it professionaly tested, cleaned and adjusted if it is necessary.

The little gears for zooming and auto focusing are a common casualty from a drop. If the lens is just as smooth zooming and still focuses just as easily and smoothly, all is probably fine if it kept working when you picked it up. Just test shoot on the next clear day. A clear day tomorrow will look like the last clear day. If the pictures look the same, all should be fine.
You could use the warranty, if it covers that kind of thing. Check and see if it only covers malfunctions and not something you did to it.
