Nikon SB-600 Speedlight
I have a SB-600 Speedlight for my Nikon D50 and I have used constantly while doing about 300 portraits for my ship. Recently the monochrome screen has started to flash the entire time it is on. It has fresh batteries and I have reset all the settings but to no avail. Te troubleshooting section of the manual mentions nothing about this. Please help if you have any info. Thanks, Jerald

I'm not familiar with the term, what is the "monochrome screen"? An LCD panel? On the D50 or the SB-600?

Monochrome is a non color LCD screen and it is on the SB-600.

If there is a bad connection or dirty electrical contacts between lens and camera or the flash and hotshoe, then that would make individual elements in the SB-600's display blink, such as "--" for the zoom setting or the "TTL" or "BL" symbols. But I don't think there is no normal condition that would make the entire display flash.
