Color Mangement
Can some tell me the best way to calibrate my monitor and printer. I have trouble getting whats on the screen to come out of the printer. I have black and white prints that come out purple or blue from time to time.

Anthony, there is a whole craft (and a bit of voodoo) to deal with this issue. The basic answer is that you need to get color calibration software with a photometer to read the screen. Basically, calibration entails setting up cross-referencing color lookup tables in the computer so that it "knows" when a ceratin shade of blue appears on your monitor, it needs to send a specific code to the printer driver to have that print a matching blue. You build so-called profiles for each monitor and each printer/paper combination (yes, changing paper or inkset brands can require re-calibration).
