HP Photosmart 8250

I just purchased the HP 8250 and still have the HP 7960. I really like the quality of the 7960 but it was very slow so when the 8250 came out with super fast printing I thought great. The 8250 uses vivera inks (individual). The biggest difference is when dark areas are printed the 8250 tends to print more grey than black and the overall image is not as sharp. I have duplicated all the settings from the 7960 to the 8250 and still cannot get the colors to match. ANY SUGGESTIONS.

I don't have experience with HP printers but in my opinion, I would sit it out and wait for a print with truer blacks than compromise a print's depth and quality for speed.

There is another thread on here somewhere that mentions this same thing and I think the suggestion was to use a gray cartridge where the black would be. . . let me see if I can find the thread!

Thank you for your feedback. Your replys prompted me to a google search that fixed my problem. It seems that in order to get the best quality picture you must use HP Premium Plus paper AND select that same paper choice in the computer (plus is the key word). My other HP printer isn't this picky. Anyway, The final print quality is GREAT! just don't expect the fast printing times as advertised. Thanks.
