What kind of tripod for rb67 pro s I just purchased 2 medium format cameras yesterday ( my first )one is a Mamiya 645 and the other is a Mamiya RB67 Pro S, I am so excited to learn this new format...however I have yet to purchace a tripod...any suggestions on what type I should get?

Wow! Luckyyyy! I would get a tripod made of real metal if you are not worried about the weight. Anything made by Monfrotto is great. You also want to look for a good head that has big enough screws to handle the weight of the larger camera. Sounds like a job for B&H.com

Congratulations. I have owned and used a Mamiya RZ67 and RB67 Pro SD for over a decade. They are capable of producing absolutely stunning results if perched upon a solid tripod(check out my website under the "fine are" section). The RB is a heavy dinosaur, but superbly balanced. I own two Gitzo tripods. A "500" series for the studio, and a lightweight carbon fiber for field use. Combined with a Gitzo or Kirk ballhead, the RB and RZ are completely stabilized on either one. You can buy a less expensive tripod, such as any in the Bogen/Manfrotto lineup, but you will most likely have to get a larger, heavier tripod to equal the stability quality of the lighter weight Gitzo's. As important as the tripod is the quality head you use. Don't expect good images from your RB if you use a chinzy tripod and/or head. Michael H. Cothran www.mhcphoto.net

Thank you so much for the responses and imput.I suppose I need to make a trip to a camera supply store( perhaps I will need to stop at the bank first lol ) Thanks again for the advice.
