aperture setting off My Canon 20d's stop indicator is stuck on 1/3 stop overexposure. I did not intentionally put it there and cannot get it to go back to 0. Even after consulting my manual, I cannot get it to move. Any suggestions?

sure you read about the part on setting exposure compensation? Have you activated the meter, then turned the tumb dial on the back until the exp comp indicator goes back to the middle? Make sure you're not confusing the exp comp indicator with the flash exp comp indicator. The flash power can be adjusted over and under like exp comp, and it has the same looking kind of scale in the display. Could be that you have the functions of the thumb dial and the main dial on top of the camera switched, and you need to meter and turn the main dial to change the exp comp.

Greg, Mine is doing the same thing. I just haven't had the time to figure out what happened. When in Av or Tv, it reads as +1/3, but if I go to M I can adjust it. I spent about 3 minutes trying to set it back and didn't find how to adjust it. Going to spend time this weekend. Kristina did you check the Canon Website? Thanks,

Exposure is set directly in M, so an exposure compensation setting is not relevant and not used. Exposure Compensation is only applied in P, Av, and Tv modes. Ditto Greg's suggestion, review the user manual instructions on exposure compensation (p. 83). To change it you must move the on/off switch to the setting above "ON" (the line that points to Quick Control Dial) to activate the Quick Control Dial on the camera's back.

Switch the on/off switch all the way up to the "line" setting + exposure mode set to P, Av, or Tv + half-press of the shutter button then turning the Quick Control Dial should change the exposure compensation setting. If it doesn't your camera needs service.

That did it. I wasn't pressing the shutter. Thanks,
