How to combine filters
Hello, I am considering purchasing the following B+W filters for use with my Nikon D70:1. Skylight KR 1.5 2. Circular Polarizer 3. Red Enhancer (Redhancer 491) I would like to know if and how these filters can be combined, and if there a specific order that is best (i.e. the skylight in front of the polarizer, etc.)? Many thanks, Sandro Borsari

Why would you want to combine the skylight and the polarizer? The skylight is used mainly to eliminate UV rays, which the polarizer will do as well.

Kerry, thanks for your answer. I was under the impression that Skylight removes UV + warms tones a little and that the Polarizer removes polarized reflected light from non-metallic surfaces... I know some kinds of filters can be combined, so I was wondering what is the best way to do it. As a matter of fact, B+W also sells a combined Skylight + Polarizer (but not so handy if you don't want the polarizer on all the time). Thanks Sandro Borsari

Most good quality filters are coated to remove UV rays and B+W filters are definitely high quality filters. Yes, the skylight warms the tones a bit but not like a warming filter. I would suggest you buy both filters but I don't think you need to use both at the same time. You might want to experiment though. I don't think the order is all that important but I always put the polarizer on first.
