Minolta Maxxum 4000 Flash TTL/M

Hi,

I'm learning to use my Minolta Maxxum 4000 AF flas.

It turns on, shows me the level on teh display and lets me adjust.

But...when I try to choose TTL or Manual by pressing the button, I hear a tiny beep, but nothing visibly appears on the display.

My question is...how do I know If I am in TTL or Manual mode?

I assume you have the instruction manual for the flash. If not, it can be downloaded from http://kmpi.konicaminolta.us/eprise/main/kmpi/content/cam/cam_SupportCenter/Support_Manual.

The TTL/M switch on the flash only operates when the camera is set for M exposure mode. In any other mode it defaults to TTL.

Per the manual: "With the camera in M mode,... switch on flash unit. Press TTL/M switch to set 4000AF for manual flash operation; "M" is displayed on flash panel when camera's meter is on." I'm guessing you may have to half-press the shutter button for the camera's meter to activate.

  Thank you for that information.
I don't have the manual, but at least I know where to go download it now!

:)
