Vivitar Flash
I can not get my Vivitar 283 flash to work on my Pentax Spotmatic. If I remove the flash from the camera it will flash it also will flash when the metal tip on the foot touched the metal body. It just will not flash when in manual and the camera is set 60 for the X setting. Please if someone knows what I should try let me know

I have a similar problem with my Vivitars. I need to use them with a sync cord. (Maybe the hot shoe on your camera is to blame.)
