Quantary Lens Woed

I have a Quantary 70-300 lens that is about 2 years old. When I auto focus - it has begun a clicking noise like it is hung up on something. If I gently turn it - the clicking stops and it focuses. This happend when I turn the camea on or off and when I change lenses. Almost like start up problems. Any ideas what this may be and how I can get it fixed? I live in South Mississippi and photo/camera shops are few and far between. Thanks! Colleen

I've had the same problem TWICE with the same lens. Your SCALE GEAR is in the process of breaking. Bring it back to Ritz. It should be under their five year warranty. If you send it to Sigma, they will charge you to repair it. I paid $55.00 in 2002 (that was the first time. The same lens just broke again. This time I bought the similar version from Tamron. It has all the smae features plus it's lighter. BUT it does hunt a bit more thanthe Sigma did when focussing.
