what kind of camera is this I won a auction on Ebay and the seller through in this camera but he didn't know what kind of camera it was. So I am asking anyone to help identify this

Looks like it might have been mounted on aircraft. Any markings on it at all, USAAC, et al.?

It just looks like a camera housing to me... It seems like an important piece is missing. By the looks of the condition of the leather I would say it is a well taken care late 1950s or later something or other...

This looks like a "blimp case". It's a housing used to muffle the noise that the camera makes during operation. Chris A. Vedros
