Choosing a photo
I'm entering a photo of mine in a local Fair in PA, I'm just an ameteur but thought I would try it. I have two photo's I am trying to choose from. Both very much the same, and yes, they are two different photo's taken seconds apart, only the camera was turned. I would appreciate any critique or help in deciding which photo to use. Thanks so much.

welcome barbara, I think(kinda scary)the vertical has too much dark foreground.almost 1/4th of the photo. the horizontal seems to present more of the scene. good luck, sam

Hi, Barbara - FWIW, I too like the landscape version of the shot - the tree sillhouette on the right side isn't cut off as it is in the portrait version.

I like the second one, too, I guess for the same reasons. Less of the dark foreground and a better composition with the other tree intact. Good luck to you at the fair. I just entered my first photos at a local fair. It was great fun to see the photos displayed.
