Flash meter

I'm looking for a meter that will trigger my strobes for accurate reading.
Does anyone know about the Sekonic 308s flash meter? Any suggetions. Looking for a newer meter so when I uprade to digital I won't ave to change anything.

Thanks

I too was looking at that particular flash meter a while back but haven't had the chance to get it yet. You say that you're looking for a meter to trigger the strobes...I believe this meter will be great and give you an exact measurement to give a good exposure. I haven't used this meter but another that I used allowed you to set it on a sort of "standby" mode that will detect any flash of light in the area and give you a reading so you won't have to have it teathered to the flash. The only problem is that you'll need another way to set of the flash if you don't have a sync cord plugged into the meter.

So, it will set off the strobes if you have it plugged in but I don't think it will set them off without using something else to trigger the flash if you don't have it plugged in.

I hope this makes sense and helps you out a little.

Andrew

Thanks for the response. I was looking it up and it say cord & cordless. If you read up on it let me know or if you run across another flash.

thanks, appreciate your help.

Minolta does that too. hook up the syc to the pc outlet. Or set it to read when a flash goes off.(that's the non-cord). You push the button, put it where the you want to take a reading, and go back to your strobe and fire it with the test button.
