comparing Canon T1 and Rebel 2000

I am getting ready to buy a new SLR by Canon and am confused about the differences between these two. Which is better(if one is) and are there significant differences between the two and my Rebel Eos G? thanks,Melissa

The basic feature set and specs of the Rebel line does not tend to change significantly with each new release. The main improvements are in Autofocus performance (greater number of sensors, better low light performance, improved algorithms for tracking moving subjects), and in the Evaluative metering (greater number of zones and improved exposure algorithms).

The Rebel 2000 replaced the Rebel G in 1999. It was slightly smaller/lighter, the AF was improved with 7 sensors, the Evaluative metering has 35 zones, and it adds Canon's advanced E-TTL auto flash metering with EX-series speedlites.

The Rebel Ti replaced the Rebel 2000 in 2002. It had new styling, with a large easy-to-read LCD panel on the back, faster/better tracking AF, and faster continuous shooting (up to 2.5 frames per second).

The Rebel T2 is the current version, replacing the Ti in late 2004. It has a slightly more powerful flash and higher flash-sync shutter speed of 1/125, and the improved E-TTL II auto flash metering with Canon's EX-series speedlights.
