What filters to use
I have just purchased a pentax mz60 I don't have any filters. What would you recommend as I take a lot of photos of my children and love to take close up photos. I have also seen photos where there is a haze around the centre of the photo. Could you please tell me what filter I would use.

Since I don't know how close you want to go with your close ups, it will be hard to suggest anything.
within a couple of feet is easily done with the lense. Within a couple of inches gets more sticky.
a good macro lense is a very good start. Closeup lenses (they go on the front of the lense like filters) work, but can cause distortion around the edges of the photograph. Extension tubes can be a godsend in macro work, but can be a bit pricey depending on your camera. They may also be hard to find.The haze you speak of is done with a center spot filter. There several other filters you may want to think about if you want to shoot portraits. These include diffusion filters, soft focus filters, and a polarizing filter. Soft focus and diffusion filters help to make blemishes less noticeable. A polarizer will give you more color saturation and remove reflection from glasses. Have fun and keep shooting,

Tiffen makes excellent filters ---use a warm polarizer or add ENHANCING or the FL-D in case you are indoors with present fluorescent lights.( Tiffen has the DELUXE ENHANCING FILTER KIT available for convenience )---other than Tiffen, B+W also has ENHANCING and Close-up lenses ( 0.25,0.50,1 up to 5 ---recommend you find one that you feel very useful). Find the filters in the Photo and Cameras category of EBAY online! ( there are plenty to select there...)
