Sigma lens for Canon

What Canon EOS cameras are compatible with the Sigma 28-200mm F3.5-5.6 lens? I recall reading a comment that it may be usable in the Tv mode only on Rebel and later EOS models.
Thank for your help.

Generally, Sigma lenses made prior to 2001 are 100% compatible with Canon bodies that were introduce prior to 2001, but may have some ROM chip based incompatibilities with bodies introduced later. Sigma will re-chip lenses to restore compatibility, if they can (probably not for lenses long out of production or very low volume lenses).

I can tell you from experience that older Sigma lenses may have compatibility issues with newer digital Canon cameras. I have an older Sigma 400mm 5.6 APO lens that I love, it is very sharp, with great color reproduction. I used it with my EOS 620. When I try and use it on my 10D, if it is on any f stop but 5.6, it will give me an Error 99. I contacted Sigma, and they told me it was a known issue, and that they couldn't do anything about it, but (surprise)they would be happy to sell me a new lens!
