Nikon FM3a and flash ?

What type of flash do I need for a Nikon FM3a ? I am looking at the following due to the cost of a nikon flash.

Vivitar 850 AF TTL Shoe Mount Flash (Guide No. 120'/37 m at 85mm) for Nikon AF

thanks
Jake

Vivitar flashes are good flashes but that unit is for an AF camera. It should work fine on your FM3a but you are paying for features you really don't need since it is designed for an AF camera. You might want to check out the Sunpack 433D. It has the same guide number as the Vivitar but is less expensive. (Doesn't have the variable power settings like the Vivitar but, unless you use it a lot on manual it won't matter.)
